Founded in 2008, Newronika is a company created from one of Italy's largest research hospitals, the "Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda-Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico" and the Milan University "Università degli Studi of Milan".
The company works with a multidisciplinary team from the fields of neurophysiology, neurology, neuropsychology and biomedical disciplines to translate basic research into meaningful, clinically applicable therapy systems.
Today Newronika is represented in 35 countries and works mainly in the field of neuromodulation, offering innovative systems for non-invasive transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) – the Newronika HDCKit. A further area is the adaptive DBS stimulation system for the treatment of neurological disorders in movement.
Today, tDCS is used as an effective adjuvant method for the treatment of neurological diseases such as stroke and pain and for the treatment of neuropsychiatric diseases such as depression or addiction.
